About Our Trainer
René Stephan - Owner and Head Trainer
Born in Ontario, Canada, in 1988, I moved to California in 1995, where my love for dogs grew into a lifelong passion. My journey into professional dog training started in an unexpected way—through my own personal struggles with my dog’s behavior. While playing professional football in the CFL, I faced challenges with my dog’s animal aggression. After trying multiple training programs with little success, my mother introduced me to Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team (LDTT). The results were life-changing—not only for my dog but for me as well.
Seeing firsthand the peace and confidence that came with having a well-trained dog, I knew I wanted to help others experience the same transformation. I joined LDTT, where I was mentored by some of the best in the industry. The team’s support and high standards pushed me to become not just a better trainer, but a better leader, mentor, and business owner.
With over a decade of professional training experience, I have worked with dogs of all breeds, temperaments, and behavioral challenges. I specialize in balanced training, focusing on creating confident, well-mannered dogs while empowering owners with the skills to maintain success at home, in the office, and everywhere in between. Whether working with family pets or challenging behavioral cases, my goal is always the same: to build a strong, lasting bond between dogs and their owners through trust, structure, and communication.
When I am not training dogs, you will find me staying active and working out, hiking, and always seeking new challenges. I also have big personal goals, like taking care of my family, traveling the world, and living life to the fullest. But no matter where life takes me, my passion remains the same: helping dogs and their owners live better, more fulfilling lives together.
